Allow Me To Be Among The First To Endorse...

Posted September 14th, 2011 by Kevin D. Korenthal Kevin D. Korenthal in SCV Politics

...Scott Wilk for Assembly.

Mr. Wilk, whom I have not always gotten along with is, of the 2 candidates I know that are running, the most qualified to represent the 38th Assembly District in Sacramento. Buck & Patricia McKeon are staples of the Community of Santa Clarita and Buck's long service to this community and to the Country is to be lauded and celebrated. But Patricia McKeon, in my opinion, has not established any credentials, outside of service to her husbands re-election and communications campaigns, to serve the 38th Assembly District in The State Legislature.

Scott Wilk on the other hand has decades of relevant work experience both on the campaign and policy sides of government service. He has already received personal commitments of support from the most successful and popular elected leaders in our community and is a hero of the redistricting movement for having successfully rallied residents to get involved in the process which led to some pretty decent results.

There are other political factors at play which add to my motivation for making this endorsement now. Unfortunately, many of these factors will become front and center as the Republican primary battle to see which of these 2 candidates will face a token Democrat in November 2012 heats up. Because of that, you can be sure that I'll be writing much, much more about this race as it gets underway but first, let me issue the standard fine print:

This endorsement is made by Kevin D. Korenthal and NOT on behalf of any other group he may represent or otherwise speak on behalf of. Any attempt by any person or entity to tie this endorsement to any other group or person is futile and will only lead to embarrassment and political criticism of the parties responsible.

See this Santa Clarita Signal article for more information on Scott's plans.
